If you ain’t got no haters, you ain’t poppin.

I read Our Daily Bread every morning for inspiration. This morning’s read was something profound that I think we take for granted. People in this day and age are jealous, envious, and spiteful. We all have haters but we need to know how to handle them. After all, if you ain’t got no haters, you ain’t poppin.

4 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. – Matthew 5:44

Do good to those who hate you…kill them with kindness. Rejoicing at someone’s downfall is like participating in the cause of that downfall or even wishing more evil on the person.

How do we react when something bad happens to our neighbor or when our neighbor gets into trouble? If they are nice and friendly then, of course we will sympathize with them and go to her aid. But what if they are a hater? Our natural tendency may be to ignore them or even secretly rejoice at his downfall.

Proverbs warns us: “Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice.”

Lord, open our eyes and our hearts to be honest about our attitude toward those who are unkind or unfair to us. Fill our hearts with Your love, Lord, and help us pray for our enemies.

Love your haters. Don’t settle and stoop down to their level. But, continue to shine, after all that’s why God put you on this earth.

Love your neighbor as yourself.

Seasons Change

Right now I am on my way to San Diego to spend time with family for Thanksgiving. As I look over this time of year I like to meditate on where God has brought me from this year alone. As I reflect, I realize how truly grateful I am for all that He has done for me. I am thankful.

This will be my first year spending Thanksgiving without any immediate family. I will be at my cousin’s home. I won’t be having none of my mom’s delicious filé gumbo, cornbread dressing or no fried turkey. I have to realize although that’s what I am used to, I need to be open to change. I am more than sure that I will have a great feast by my cousins, especially because we are cut from the same cloth. lol. I’m gonna help cook anyway.

In life we get so accustomed to routine and tradition. However, our lives bring about changes, just like seasons change… Spring to Summer, Summer to Fall, Fall to Winter, Winter to Spring. We live life in seasons. We have to learn to move through our seasons. You can’t move forward without change, without growth. We have to expect change somewhere in our lives.

Sometimes we got to go through seasons where we are alone. Seasons to grow and seasons to let go. Currently I am in a season of growth and learning, it’s my season to get out of my comfort zone, routine and do different things…go beyond my reach.

There are seasons of “little” where God tests you. That’s the season I was in when I first moved to Los Angeles. That’s where he prepares and discovers you. It’s preparation. If you are faithful over little, you’ll be faithful over much. There are seasons of serving as we transition.

For anyone that God attends to exalt he has a waiting period. A transition period. It’s the most powerful season. Do something while in this season. SERVE. Participate in the process. God’s timing is everything and His time is not always our time. How do we keep a forward mindset on a long season of transition?  We have to remain focused. We can’t get stuck when we hit rejection.

We cannot walk into our purpose without season, without form. God has to shape us. You got to go through something. Sometimes people enter our lives for a season. We may have seasonal relationships. Seasonal  relationships are designed to teach you something, to grow and develop who you are.

You can’t be committed to old, routine, or comfort. Let go of one to get to another. We can’t be the same person in the next season. Be open to growth, change, and advancement. There should always be growth, constant growth. What got you through the first time won’t necessarily be what will get you through the second time. Let the seasons change.

Your purpose evolves as you evolve.

Making Time

I recently had to check myself on my daily routine. I typically pray and read God’s Word every morning. However, lately I’ve been finding myself off track. I had to get that in check real quick.

See often times we get consumed in our everyday lives and get comfortable in God’s blessings. We forget to take a moment and spend time with Him, even if it is simply to just thank Him for all that He has done. As believers our relationship with God should never be stagnant. There should always be room for growth for His love is infinite. Let’s regain focus and thank the Master of where our blessings come from as we continue to grow in God.

We should never be too busy for God. If we focus on God’s business, He will intercede on our behalf so put Him first.

“Seek first the Kingdom of God and everything else will be added unto you.” – Matthew 6:33

Just Smile

I’m just returning from my “FRIENDCATION” and it was AMAZING! My girls and I had so much fun. We went to different restaurants in Miami, partied like every night. When we got to Turks and Caicos, we rode horses in the ocean and went tube sledding which was so bomb! In Dominican Republic we went ATV riding through the city. I had the time of my life! We met some cool locals that ensured us that we will have the time of our lives and we did!

In Dominican Republic we rented four wheelers just thinking we were going to just ride through this amazing city and be tourist. We ran into some kids and they were so grateful for the little things. They were happy just by us giving them candy. I was like wow! They didn’t complain about which flavor or size or how many. They were just grateful for whatever they can get. One of the kids went up to my friend and asked her for her flip flops for his little sister. His little sister and some of the other kids were walking on rocks and glass barefoot. My friend gave him the flip flops and went the rest of the day without any shoes on. Shoutout to my queen Jarrell Alena for doing that. We were in total culture shock riding through the streets of Dominicana. I want to start something where we can give clothes and shoes to this community.

Being in that moment made me realize that we take a lot for granted, like a whole lot. There is and always will be someone who has less than you or worse off than you. Even in the worst of times, we have much to be thankful for.  Therefore we need to be grateful for the small things, the little things. The bible says if you are faithful over a few things, then God will have you faithful over much. It’s simply how we handle the small blessings. How can God bless us with so much if we take what he has already blessed us with for granted? Be grateful.

Too often we find ourselves thinking and dwelling on moments in life that don’t go our way. Often we compare the things we have to others when in all actuality we should be focusing on the wonderful gifts that God has already given to us.

We should be more actively and intentionally grateful because our God has been good to us in more ways than we could ever count…for us to wake up with breath in our bodies, be able to see, hear, taste, be clothed and in our right minds, to have shelter over our heads, food on the table, even to have a job, we may complain about the type of job we have but at least we have a job. Be grateful. I can go on and on but that’s just the beginning.

We often look over these things. Some people aren’t as fortunate to even have what WE take for granted. Count your blessings, great or small and give thanks to God for what he has already done. We don’t need more to be thankful for, we just need to be more thankful.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart.”

The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” – Psalm 32:8 That’s all I need to know, that’s why no matter what happens in my life, I just smile, because it can always be worse.

Keep Calm and Trust God

Time Off 🙌🏽

I am so excited to be going away for some relaxation! I am currently in Miami soon headed to Dominican Republic and Turks & Caicos with my girls! Girls Trip! You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this “friendcation!”

God just continues to bless me abundently for He is the source of where all my blessings come from. He literally brings me from level to level. I will relaunch my Instagram today and will share my adventures through there.😁 I know I haven’t been on social media since February but I needed time to grow.

The time I was away, I was in my cocoon. A cocoon is like a chamber of darkness, an awkward, and scary place in your life. There is no way to truly get to the next God level without going through the cocoon.

A cocoon is temporary but necessary for growth. We are being formed and transformed. It’s purpose is to prep you for what God has next. Don’t look at the process…You will miss your purpose. Look towards the future and what God is trying to show you and reveal.

You have to manifest that new you, what’s on the inside. When you go to level to level…. Who we are, creates what we do. We have to learn who we are and know whose we are.

Sometimes we got to take a step back and reflect. Reflect on where he’s already brought us and reflect on where we are going.

In what ways are we wasting time? In what ways am I making my days count? In what areas do I need to make changes?

God always have our best interest at heart. He definitely created us to do great things! The clock is ticking!

The Inside is Much Greater

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees;[a] for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7

I try to start each day with about 30 minutes of meditation, basically quality time with God. On this morning the topic of my meditation from “Our Daily Bread” is An Inside View. As I was reading I was empowered.

Often times we always look at the outside of a person and unconsciously base a judgement on he or she by solely their outward appearance. This isn’t fair. We are in a society where everyone is so fixated on looks, materials, and outside beauty. However, the Lord looks at the heart.

What if we try to not base any judgments on a person by just looking on the outside but rather look within that person. Start a conversation with someone. Try to get to know someone pass their physical traits.

When God looks at us, He is more interested in our hearts, not the latest fashion we may have on. He’s more interested in our hearts than our height, the state of our soul than the structure of our face. He doesn’t see us as too old, too young, too small, or too big. God already knows that we are beautiful without blemish for he created us. God zeroes in on the things that matter–our response to His love for us and our concern for other people.

The true measure of a person is what’s in the heart.

Today is My Birthday!

Hey guys! Today is the launch of my website and I am so excited! =) I been working on this site for a while and all my hard work has finally paid off! God be the glory! Thanks Loyola for teaching me how to build a website! lol XOXO I’ve been fasting for the last 21 days to bring in my birthday with God, to help me remain focused on this launch, to work on my giving, to strengthen my spiritual being overall. I believe that God will make this year prosperous for me.

I decided I needed to take a long vacation from social media to regain focus and to really take care of Robyn. I had to get rid of distractions and get back to pursuing my original goal. Within this time I was able to spend more time with God and let him speak to me and give light to my path. Sometimes it’s good to take a break from social media. You never realize the amount of time you can spend on a social network. When I realized I had self-control it gave me that boost to acknowledge that I can truly do anything.

I hope that you can grow with me as I continue my journey. XOXO

Why Worry?

Well… you’re not supposed to. Don’t worry about ANYTHING. Instead pray about EVERYTHING. I will never think of anything that God, my Father, will forget, or doesn’t already know, so why should I worry? He knows it ALL. He just wants us to tell it to Him, let go and wholeheartedly give it to Him. Tell God what you are worried about and thank him for all that he has already done. Release it to Him. You will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your heart and mind.

Stuff is always gonna happen. Obstacles will always come.  It’s life. It’s how you handle the situation. How do you handle life? Do you look at the positive side of things or focus on the negative? Remember in every situation it can always be worse. Look at the glass half full as opposed to half empty.

Often times we spend too much time worrying about the wrong things. Majoring in the minors. Worry is a sign that you lost focus in priorities. Worry steals and strips creativity. We have a tendency to prioritize the wrong things. Worry attracts the thing that you are fearing. When you dwell on it you live in the consciousness of it. Remain focused on the now, your future and let go of your past.

You have to chill in rough times. God already knows what you need. Pray for wisdom, strategy, insight, and strength. Pray that God shows you things, the place of your purpose…everything will be there. Seek first the kingdom of God and everything else will be added unto you.

Matthew 6:25-34

25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

We worry about tomorrow but what about today? Live for the day and let God work out tomorrow.

Be blessed and be great! Make today count!
